Why Do I Need a Website?

Websites Never Sleep. Many people surf the web in the evening when most businesses are closed, which is perfectly fine because websites never take a break. A website will allow your business or organization to be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Having a website is the equivalent of having an employee working around the clock – even weekends and holidays!

Your Top Competitor Has A Website. If you are in direct competition with another business that has a website, they have a clear advantage – especially if they are adequately marketing their website. A website is a great way to level the playing field.

“Just Google It”. More than ever before, people are turning away from traditional means of finding information and looking on-line, especially by way of mobile devices. Your business should be at their fingertips when they look in the search engines.

61 Million People. That is the number of people in Ireland and the UK regularly use the Internet. Worldwide Internet usage is pushing two billion.

Websites Are Not Just Local, They Are Global. Most small businesses are only able to market to their town and surrounding communities. With a website, you can take your goods and services around the world, if you so choose.

How Much Does a Website Cost?

Like any other product or service, a website’s price will depend on what features it has, how it’s designed and how well it’s built. Its difficult to give a generic price because each website is designed to individual requirements so the amount of work involved in each project will differ. For instance, a custom web application involves a lot more work than a simpler single-page website.

Similarly, all of our websites have basic search engine optimisation in place to ensure that they’re well indexed by search engines, but if you need your website to appear very high in search results, additional time and work is required which will increase the cost. Once we have an idea of your requirements, we’ll be able to give you an immediate quote for your site.

My Business doesn’t sell Merchandise on-line, Why would I need a Website?

If you offer something that people are looking for, a large portion of people (perhaps a market unknown to you thus far) will search the Internet, because it’s fast, it’s easy, it’s global and it’s private. A web site will put you in the running with others on the Internet. Take restaurants and lodging for example. When people are visiting a certain area over 70% of travellers in the use the Internet to set travel itineraries — and those itineraries include restaurants, accommodations, and shopping. Will you be among the choices found when they search the Internet?

Which format do I supply Images for my Site?

It is preferable to have images supplied in JPEG format, GIF or PNG. We find it very helpful if people can email us their images (the bigger the better – they can always be reduced in size rather than increased). Most digital cameras will produce adequate resolution images (the higher the resolution the better the image quality) and these images can be sent to us by electronic methods, or placed on a CD if there are lots of images.

I’m Not Located in Cork, Is It Practical For Me To Use Your Services?

Yes, why not. Some of our customers in the past were located out of town. We are used to coordinating your website development with you over the phone, email and even Skype if necessary. We do enjoy meeting with our local customers in person, but it’s not necessary in order to develop your website.

Once My Site is Complete, What happens next?

Once your website is up and running we can offer you a full support package designed to help maintain and update as required certain elements of your website. Basically we can act as “agents” for your site, taking care of further updates, additional modifications if required, and report back to you on page rankings, visitors etc. If we are taking care of your hosting for you, it makes the support even easier.
